This research guide is for Ms. Hall's art students. Write a short research paper about a photographer and focus on a particular photo or series of photos by that artist. In your paper, provide a biographical sketch of the artist, explain the historical and cultural significance of your photographer's work, and provide formal analysis of this work.
Paper length: 3-5 pages, 12 pt font (bibliography does not count as a page)
Key Question: Why do some images feel more significant than others? What is the significance of this photographer?
Content: In your paper, you will be responsible for providing the following content.
Formal Discussion of Work: This is not a critique but rather an analysis of your artist's work. What techniques (contrast, composition, development techniques etc) did they use to evoke certain feelings, moods, emotions or content? What is the historical significance? Why does this artist matter?
Sources: At least three sources from this LibGuide. Every website you use needs to be evaluated using the website evaluation sheet below. You must include the Works Cited at the end of your paper.
Presentation: Make a short presentation of your paper with at least 2 slides
