UL Art Research: Home


This research guide is for Mr. Allen's art students. Write a short research paper about an artist and focus on a drawing or a series of drawings by that artist. Alternatiely, you can choose a genre of drawing. In your paper, explain the historical significance and provide formal analysis.

The goal of this research project is to deepen your knowledge and teach your classmates.


Sources: At least 2, and one must be from a library database. Your must include the Works Cited at the end of your paper.

Presentation: Make a short presentation of your paper with at least 2 slides.

Consider these sources for this project. 

BOOKS: The library has many art books, so search the library catalog for your artist or art stye. Remember the Noodle Tools App when citing books. It allows you to scan the book's barcode with your phone and cites the book for you.

DATABASES: See the tab called "Library Databases" for a few select databases to try.

WEBSITES: Use the smart Google searching techniques found on this page to find quality websites.
